AuthorSoup is a new website to help indie authors promote their books. The name “AuthorSoup” derives from an old folk story titled Stone Soup. The story goes something like this:
A group of hungry, tired sojourners enter a village carrying nothing more than an empty cooking pot. Upon their arrival, they find that the villagers are unwilling to share any of their food with the hungry travelers. The travelers go to a nearby stream and fill the pot with water. They drop a large stone in it and place it over a fire.
One of the villagers becomes curious and asks, “What are you doing?”
A traveler answers, “We are making stone soup, which tastes absolutely wonderful! It still needs a little bit of garnish though to improve the flavor.”
The villager does not mind parting with a few carrots to help them out. They get added to the soup. Another villager walks by inquiring about the pot and the traveler again mentions their stone soup, which still needs a little seasoning. The villager hands them a little bit of seasoning to help them out. More and more villagers walk by, each adding another ingredient. Finally, all enjoy a delicious and nourishing pot of soup.

AuthorSoup a story of sharing amongst relative strangers. If we can get Indie Authors to share what they have as well as take in what others are sharing—Growth will occur.
