Colonel Steven D. Martin, USAF (Ret) Releases, CrossTell: Military Parables for Victorious Living

RALEIGH, North Carolina, November 21, 2013 — FontLife Publications is pleased to announce that U.S. Air Force Colonel Steven D. Martin (Retired) has released CrossTell: Military Parables for Victorious Living. Crosstell Reports are used throughout Department of Defense (DoD) and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) bases to share information between installations at the same operational level.

Colonel Martin is the co-founder and director of the Raleigh-based Yellow Ribbon Ministries, which provides information and ministers to the needs of our military and veterans’ community. Each month, Yellow Ribbon Ministries publishes a newsletter that opens with a story of historic significance that ends with a Biblical principal that can be garnered from the context of the story. In many ways, these stories are like Crosstell Reports in that they share moral or spiritual lessons gleaned from the lives of some of the bravest and most decorated military heroes from all generations. CrossTell: Military Parables for Victorious Living is a compilation of these faith-building and encouraging stories.

Martin said, “Nothing can replace our daily Bible reading and prayer to guide our lives and these stories are certainly not intended to replace our daily devotional time with the Lord. However, they may provide a method by which you can relate your daily walk with the Lord to the Scriptures and lessons of the Bible. It is my prayer that you will receive a blessing by reading them.

Colonel Martin served for thirty-three years in the United States Air Force rising from Airman Basic to Colonel. His extensive experience in disaster response led to his development of the “Force Packaging” model for Defense Support to Civil Authorities. The National Emergency Management Association endorsed this model as the military standard for resource typing.

Colonel Martin graduated from the United States Air Force Air War College in 2006 and is a recipient of the Legion of Merit. He is a Certified Public Manager with the State of North Carolina and is a recipient of North Carolina’s “Order of the Long Leaf Pine” the highest award given by the state. He and his wife Deborah live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
